Hans de Waard is currently a PhD-student at the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology and Biopharmacy at the University of Groningen (the Netherlands). He received both a master in Chemical Engineering and a master in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Groningen in 2006.
His current PhD-research focuses on the development of a novel process to prepare drug nanocrystals of poorly soluble drugs by controlled crystallization during freezedrying. Topics of his research include a.o. up-scaling of this crystallization process, physical-chemical characterization of nanocrystals, in-process control of freezedrying, and molecular modeling of several aspects related to nanocrystals.
