CEO of SP Industries, Inc. (SP) has announced the appointment of Ian Whitehall
as Chief Sales Officer managing and directing all global sales programs for the
company’s three divisions, SP Scientific, SP Scienceware and SP Ableware.
Most
recently EVP for SP Scientific Sales & Service, Whitehall joined SP in 2005
when the company acquired Genevac LTD. from Thermo-Fisher Scientific. In making
the announcement Downs stated, “Ian’s scientific education, research background
and subsequent commercial roles including serving as Managing Director of our
Genevac business make him uniquely qualified to strategically lead and develop
our diverse sales platforms. As a member of the SP Leadership team Ian has been
instrumental in expanding our portfolio of biological drug manufacturing
equipment offerings, driving our growth in the global marketplace as well as
integrating and realizing synergies between our equipment and consumables
brands.”

Scienceware laboratory and glassware supplies are highly regarded and have
strong distribution particularly in the North American market. Brad Mahood most
recently headed sales for this division and we were fortunate to have his years
of industry knowledge and leadership as SP diversified and expanded its customer
value proposition through the 2014 acquisition of Bel-Art Products and its
related brands. Brad has retired effective April 29, 2016, however we are
fortunate to retain him in a consulting capacity and look forward to Ian and
the SP team continuing to build on SP Scienceware’s strong brand franchise,
further expanding our international presence” added Downs.
Whitehall
who has 28 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology

joining SP Industries, Whitehall held scientific positions at Lonza Biologics and GSK before moving to commercial
roles with Beckman Coulter (European Marketing Manager: Liquid Handling and Drug
Discovery), TTP Labtech
(Sales Manager) and Smiths Detection (European Business Manager: Life Sciences) and Genevac Ltd
as Sales Manager for Genevac along with Electrothermal, STEM and Barnstead
Europe.
